Responding to Bullying |
|
Bullying is an issue in every school that we ignore at our children’s peril. Thousands of children go to school every day filled with fear and trepidation or feign illness to avoid school .In this one hour presentation, participants will learn to understand the problem and develop an effective adult response routine that creates a discipline process that provides the tools necessary to begin the healing process: restitution, resolution, and reconciliation. They will also learn strategies that help all students - the bully, the bullied, and the bystander - break the cycle of violence. They will learn how to teach respect and not demand it and help children learn friendship skills that enable successful peer relations- empathy, compassion, and perspective taking.
Date: January 24 Time: 7pm – 8pm Location: MELC Narberth 201 Sabine Ave. Narberth, PA
RSVP: Traci Connaughton at 610 617 4550 x3032 or tconnaughton@melc.org. Please RSVP by January 17. Space is limited.
