Job Title: Administrative Assistant (Part-time)
Location: 1001 South 45th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104
Center: Infant Friendship Center

Summary

Montgomery Early Learning Centers has an Administrative Assistant position open at the Infant Friendship Center. This is a part-time position with Benefits. The schedule is Mon-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This position pays $9 to $10.00 an hour depending on experience.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Business courses/knowledge of office procedures, computer and other office equipment
  • Office experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and excellent phone manners

It is the utmost importance that the administrative assistant treats all information regarding children, families and staff in a confidential, professional and responsible manner.

The duties of the administrative assistant include, but are not limited to:

Office Management/Record Keeping:

¨      Answering phones, screening and channeling calls, taking messages

¨      Greeting guests and visitors to the center

¨      Distributing mail

¨      Typing, copying, filing, and mailing materials submitted by the director and other staff as approved by the director i.e. letters, parent meetings, meeting minutes, conference notes, reports required by the agency, state and federal authorities, memos, etc.

¨      Operate center office equipment

¨      Posting staff sign in sheets and other pertinent center information

Staff Communication/Center Development:

¨      Maintaining staff resource libraries

¨      Staff in-service and training opportunities

¨      Covering classrooms as necessary

¨      Team/staff meetings

¨      Fundraising activities

Interaction of Families and Community:

¨      Interacting professionally with families, schools, agencies and other outside persons

¨      Actively marketing the facility to the public

¨      Recruiting families

¨      Maintaining a high level of satisfaction with currently enrolled families

¨      Interpreting the MELC program to other agencies, organizations and groups including parents, as appropriate

¨      Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
