Steve joined MELC in January 2009 as the Chief Operating Officer responsible for all aspects of facilities management, maintenance, lease negotiations, and contracting products and services required to support programs and operations. In addition, he oversees all administrative, marketing, human resources, and fundraising functions of MELC. Prior to joining MELC, Steve work for almost 20 years as an executive director of programs providing housing and end-of-life care to men and women with HIV/AIDS in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Reading, Pennsylvania. He served on the executive committee of the Pennsylvania Coalition of AIDS Service Organizations (PCASO) from 1991 to 1998, including two terms as PCASO’s President. Steve received his degree in education, psychology, language and literature from the University of Michigan and, early in his career was a teacher of middle school aged children with behavioral and learning challenges.
