The Thomas J. Harwood, Jr. Scholarship Fund was created to aid families in need of tuition assistance.
The Scholarship Fund was dedicated to Thomas Harwood in June 2009. Tom served as the treasurer of the Board of Directors for over 35 years. On his passing, the scholarship was dedicated to him in honor of his generous commitment of time, support and inspiration to our programs and families.
In the words of Fred Citron, Executive Director of MELC, “Tom was a very special man. The two words that were consistently used to describe him were ‘honesty’ and ‘integrity.’ We were very near to his heart, and he was to ours.”
